Mathematics Mastery is used in hundreds of secondary schools across the UK to improve maths skills and teaching.

The programme includes everything that you'll need to deliver a mastery curriculum in your maths classroom. Now available in flexible tiers, priced from just £2,000, Mathematics Mastery includes:

  • a well-sequenced and interlinked Key Stage 3 mathematics curriculum – ensuring students develop fluency and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts
  • integrated training and professional development – helping to ensure all staff develop confidence in their maths mastery teaching
  • a full set of classroom planning, delivery, assessment and intervention resources – available on MyMastery in bite-sized units, for easy implementation.

As teachers ourselves, we understand how extraordinarily difficult this year has been for all schools. We have therefore made some important additions to our mastery programmes this year, to help support schools in the months ahead.

Proven impact

In June 2021, an FFT (Fischer Family Trust) Education Datalab impact report found conclusive evidence to show that Mathematics Mastery had a positive impact on GCSE mathematics grades in schools they looked at who were using the programme.

The estimated impact on students in these schools was the equivalent of around 1/8 of a grade, or one month of additional progress.

An earlier EEF trial also found that students using the Mathematics Mastery programme for one year made an additional one month of progress compared to those not on the programme.

Feedback from our partner schools tells us:

  • 92% say the programme has deepened students’ understanding of mathematical concepts
  • 88% say students enjoy maths lessons
  • 96% say the programme has improved maths teaching in their school
  • 96% say the programme is easy to use, and over two thirds say it is helping reduce teacher workload.
Education Endowment Foundation impact study

Pupils in schools adopting Mathematics Mastery made more progress than similar pupils in schools that did not adopt the programme.

Our new MyMastery learning platform is at the heart of our programme – offering easy ‘anytime, anywhere’ access to the full suite of Mathematics Mastery secondary content.

The resources on MyMastery are split into easily accessible chunks of learning – these are called staging posts.

Each staging post covers approximately 10-12 hours of learning, with all of the resources and comprehensive professional development needed to support the teaching of that stage and the units within it. Your teachers can access the training and resources they need, when it suits them best – offering flexibility and support at the right points through the year.

It’s very cool to see how students really get into the material. We’re in a city school with some very difficult students and now they are engaged and having arguments about maths. Based on the strength of pedagogy Mathematics Mastery brings, I’ve certainly seen better structured talk, more resilience to problem solving and many more students getting started on harder problems.

Our approach

Our school improvement programme empowers and equips teachers to improve students’ enjoyment, understanding and attainment in maths.

Mathematics Mastery is research-based and specifically designed for UK classrooms by Dr Helen Drury and a team of experts.

The programme includes five integrated components, which work together to build specialist expertise, develop teachers, improve maths lessons and drive change.
