A successful Ark Curriculum Plus conference

We were pleased to launch our annual Ark Curriculum Plus conference last week. This year, it had the added challenge and opportunity of being virtual! Our computer screens connected us in our classrooms or living rooms as we focused on ‘Education for Everyone’. We all reflected on the challenges of the year, but importantly, celebrated the incredible work of our teachers across the community. As one teacher stated:

“It was really inspirational and actually quite emotional to hear and relive everything that we have gone through as a profession over the last year. To have time to reflect on the positive outcomes though was really special.”

Our sessions focused on three strands:

  1. The power of the teacher
  2. The route to recovery
  3. Subject-specific professional development for teachers in Maths and English

We had 50 speakers with 31 different sessions across the two days. Speakers from a wide range of disciplines joined us to celebrate ‘Education for Everyone’. From CEO of The EEF Professor Becky Francis discussing what the evidence tells us to Laura McInerney highlighting the power of the teaching profession to panel discussions with expert teaching leaders and networking sessions.

We enjoyed the live presentations and discussions and look forward to the ongoing learning and discussion. All 600+ registrants will be able to watch anything they missed with replays available. Teachers tell us they’re worth the watch. 94% of all sessions received 4 or 5 out of 5 in feedback!

  • "This has helped me rethink my approach to teaching and learning especially with expectations on students."
  • "Great strategies and examples combined with humour and passion. Fabulous CPD."
  • "Excellent and informative session. The evidence and the research gave lots of food for thought and ideas to help schools support pupils in closing the gap. Lots of things to consider."
  • "Such an engaging and inspiring conversation. Thank you!"

Thank you to all who participated for your time and engagement in our sessions. We are already looking forward to next year!
