Success for all is already at the heart of our curriculum design. This year, more children than ever have been disadvantaged by the learning gap resulting from a year of disrupted learning.
We're excited to tell you about new developments that you will find in our Mastery programmes when you renew for September 2021, to provide additional support on the route to recovery:
Focused curriculum – that is knowledge rich, precisely defined and cumulatively sequenced so you can be very clear about the curriculum content that pupils have and haven’t been taught.
Quality teaching – with new planning guidance to help address curriculum and knowledge gaps, booster units to focus in on critical content, differentiated tasks or pathways to meet different learner needs, and topic specific professional development at your finger tips
Purposeful Assessment – through new diagnostic assessments to identify missing pre-requisite knowledge with reteach where needed, plus more opportunities for in-lesson assessment activities, and post-unit assessment to check on progress
Mastery for all – supported by teacher guidance and resources to meet every pupils’ needs, informed by in-lesson and diagnostic assessments
Intervention – structured tuition for 1:1 or small group intervention for those that need additional support
As teachers ourselves, we understand how extraordinarily difficult this period has been for all schools. We have made some important changes to our mastery programmes this year to help support you in the months ahead.
