Ark Curriculum Plus is an Ark Venture* whose mission is to empower teachers to give every young person, regardless of their background, the subject knowledge and skills that will allow them to succeed.
Already partnering with over 750 schools across the UK, including the 39 schools in the Ark network, we are committed to transforming student achievement through the provision of innovative curriculum materials and associated teacher training and development. Having pioneered the mastery approach, our curriculum programmes been recognised by Ofsted, as well as influencing the adoption by the Department for Education of a mastery approach to teaching mathematics.
Ark Curriculum Plus aims to significantly increase its reach and impact over the next few years by expanding the number of programmes it develops and delivers, and moving to a digital first delivery model.
Our Programme Board currently brings together a range of experiences: finance, fundraising, and educationalists, all sharing a belief in the power of education to change people’s lives and a passion for improving life chances, particularly of disadvantaged children.
We are now looking for additional support through the recruitment of a new board member. This person will bring some or all of the following:
1. Marketing/PR/Comms
2. Educational policy development
3. Curriculum, assessment and/or teacher professional development design
Time commitment: Three board meetings a year, with up to three additional meetings with members of the organisation as required. Where possible board members might be consulted on specific projects or initiatives.
DBS: Ark is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; all successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
We welcome applications from the widest possible diversity of backgrounds and all appointments are made on merit following a fair and transparent process.
